Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals

Folk Potters Festival

Potters from across the southeast gather for a new tradition in Banks County started by Banks County’s own famous folk art potter Steve Turpin. Potters such as Sid Luck, the Ferguson family, the Hewell family, the Meaders family and many others bring their wares to sell in one of the largest potters’ shows in the southeast. Sunday School Celebration/Historical Courthouse Lawn

The last Saturday in July, members of the county’s churches gather on the square in Homer for the longest running Christian gathering of its kind in the world. For the past 125 years, the Sunday School Celebration has brought congregations together from all denominations. A potluck lunch is held and ladies bring their best dishes and desserts for all to enjoy. The Banks County Boy Scouts provide fresh homemade ice cream for the event.
